Hamilton goes green!

No, I'm not just talking about the increasing foliage, though that is nice too...

What I'm referring to is the new curbside composting!! Yes, you heard right! In an effort to reduce landfill Hamilton will now pick up not only glass and paper but compost as well!

It's called the GreenCart program.

At the same time they are limiting the amount of ordinary garbage you can put out (otherwise you have to pay).

How cool is that?
: )

(And guess who figured out how to make links? I'm learning just a little bit of html... : )

awesome about the compost! though in england in the few areas I have heard of around here that do compost, its only garden compost, and nothing from the Kitchen, is that how it works there?

I am glad you are learning HTML, but I have added a link knowing none... you highlight the word while posting a blog in blogger and click the blue infinity sign icon near the picture icon (for blogging photos) and it opens up a pop up where you paste the link.

easy!

The magic button does NOT EXIST on the browser I am using, so it did involve a little more effort (use of cut and paste at least!). Once I switch browers (after marking) it may all become easier...

The composting here is garden clippings, food scraps, everything except dog poop, sanitary products and diapers (to use the local lingo). They figured out that it was cheaper to try and get everyone to do this than to build a new landfill (and there isn't really anywhere to put it!)
